We are a community of followers of Jesus Christ, committed to live by faith, to be known by love and worship, and to be a voice of hope. The name of our community originated from the diversity of our members coming from countries and cultures around the globe, now living in Lyon.

We welcome people from all walks of life, regardless of where they are in their spiritual journey.

Come to ICCL and discover how we can all fit together!

ICCL Friends and Family –

I hope that each of you are doing well and have enjoyed this last week of the Toussaint Break.  Also, I wanted to thank the students who helped lead and be a part of worship this past Sunday.  Thank you for serving the church!

As we are about to head into a busy season of ministry at the ICCL, I wanted to make sure that you were aware of some upcoming events.  Please be sure to mark the following dates on your calendar:

  • Nov 14 – College and Lycée student party with our friends from the Anglican Church.
  • Nov 15 (2 pm) – Our annual ICCL Thanksgiving Meal and Service.  Sign-ups will begin this Sunday during our service at 16h30.
  • Nov 29 (4 pm) – Our 11th annual Christmas Carols Service. Be on the lookout for information about how you can serve and be a part of our largest annual event.

Finally, we will be meeting this Sunday at 16h30 at the Temple du Change.

See you Sunday!

ICCL Friends and Family –

I wanted to remind you of the time change for this Sunday. We will be meeting on Sunday at the Temple du Change at 16h00. Because of a concert later that evening at the Temple, we will need to begin promptly at 16h00 and end promptly at 17h00.

Also, I wanted to let you know that there will be a crew from the United States filming some footage during the first part of the service. This will be for a promotional video of the work ICCL is doing in Lyon. Your presence on Sunday will help us show the world the impact that the ICCL is making in Lyon for the glory of God!

Please help me get the word out to other ICCLers about the time change.

I’ll see you on Sunday at 16h00 at the Temple.

God Bless,

Greg

ICCL Friends and Family –

I wanted to let everyone know that we will be meeting back at the Temple du Change this Sunday at 16h30.

Also, I wanted to thank you for all that you have done in making the ICCL the church that it is.  I am amazed at what I see happening in the church, and I am fortunate to have the honor of serving as your Pastor.

There is great momentum at the ICCL and my hope and prayer is that you are as encouraged as I am.  I feel that God is doing something with this church. May we always give Him the Glory and follow wherever He leads us.

I’ll see you Sunday at 16h30 at the Temple du Change!

The address is 6, rue Albert Thomas in Caluire et Cuire, 69300. Parking is available.

    Then just a short walk.

ICCL Friends and Family –

I want to thank each and every one of you for your assistance and attendance over the last couple of weeks at our new location – The Temple du Change. The last two Sundays have been a wonderful experience for us.

One of the challenges that we are facing at the Temple du Change is the fact that it is a public building in a central location in Lyon. The building is a desired location and is in high demand. As such, there are a few scheduling conflicts in October that we are going to be working around. So please check these weekly updates and our website for information over the next month.

Here is an updated schedule for you:

  • September 27 – Meet at the Temple du Change
  • October 4 – Meet at Caluire location
  • October 11 – Meet at the Temple du Change
  • October 18 – Meet at the Temple du Change at 16h00
  • October 25 – Meet at Caluire location

Again, I apologize for constant change in October. I’ll keep you updated on any other changes that occur.

The ICCL College and Lycée students have been invited to attend the Fusion Conference in Paris with the students from the Lyon Anglican Church. Mark your calendar for this date and look for more information in the next few weeks!

I’ll see you Sunday at 16h30 at the Temple du Change!

ICCL Friends and Family –

Thanks to everyone who came out to our first service at the Temple du Change last week.  It was a great afternoon and a great start to the new ministry year.  As I’ve said many times, the church is not the building, but the people.  You made last Sunday a high point in the evolution of the ICCL. Thanks for being a part of it.

I hope and pray that all of you will join us this Sunday at 16h30 at the Temple du Change as we worship together and continue our study of the major stories of the Bible.  I’m excited about this week’s message and hope to see you there.

Also, I wanted to fill you in on a couple of needs as well as upcoming events at the ICCL.

  • As the church grows, one of the areas of need is Children’s Ministry.  Please let me know if you are interested in being a part of this important ministry of the ICCL.
  • Another ministry that we would like to begin at the ICCL would be a youth program for our college and lycée students.  Please let me know if your student would like to be a part of the youth program.  Also, we are looking for someone with a heart for the youth of the ICCL and would like to be a part of leading this ministry,  Please email me at icclpastor@gmail.com if interested.
  • Refuge, our university student and young adult ministry will be starting on September 25.  Be on the lookout for an email from Jonah Haddad with more information.

I’ll see you Sunday at the Temple du Change!

ICCL Friends and Family –

This is an exciting week in the life of the ICCL as we transition to our new facility – the Temple du Change in Vieux Lyon (2 Rue de la Loge, 69005, Lyon.)  A map and directions can be found at http://www.icclyon.org/directions-to-iccl/.  I hope that you will make a special effort to join us this Sunday at 16h30 for our first service in this beautiful building.

As we prepare for this event, there are a couple of items that I want to make you aware of.  First, the scaffolding is off of the Temple and the building looks beautiful.  However, the construction wall blocking off the front of the building is still there.  We will have the gate on the construction wall open for Sunday afternoon. Don’t let the construction wall keep you away!

Second, this Sunday is going to be a “soft launch” for the ICCL.  I imagine that there will be a few glitches here and there on Sunday.  Please be patient with us as we continue to learn and work through some of the issues that might come up from a change of this magnitude.

Third, I do want to remind you that the church is not the building, it is the people.  We have strived over the last few years to create an atmosphere of friendliness and of family.  It is up to all of us to carry that same atmosphere over into the new building.  I ask each of you to do all that you can to help maintain the warmth and connection that we felt in the old facility.

Beyond the move into the new facility, there are also a couple of other items that I want to make you aware of as well.

  1. We will be signing people up to bring items for snacks this Sunday.  Please be sure to let us know if you would like to be a part of our weekly post-service goûté.
  2. We also will be signing up volunteers for Children’s Ministry.  Let me know if you are interested.
  3. Women’s Bible Study will be starting again on September 17 at 13h30 in the 6eme.  Email me for more information.
  4. Refuge (young adult and university students) will be starting agin on September 25.  Email Jonah at jonahamyh@hotmail.com for more information.
  5. The Église Protestante Évangélique de Villeurbanne Cusset is hosting a training session on evangelism on September 19.  The event is being led by the American author and trainer Becky Pippert and will be in English and then translated into French.  Here is a link to more information if interested – http://jre2015.fr

I’ll see you Sunday!

ICCL Friends and Family –

It is great to be back in Lyon!  Wende, Lindsey and I arrived yesterday to the cool weather.  You can tell that autumn is just around the corner.

As we prepare to kick off the new ministry year at the ICCL, I want to make you aware of two important events.

First, this Sunday is our annual kick-off BBQ and Baptism.  We have moved the event to Winston Vernaton’s house this year in order to accommodate the baptism.  Although it is a drive, I hope that you make a priority of being there in order to support those who have decided to make a public profession of their faith in Christ by being baptized.

Here is the information about the event:

When:  Sunday, 6 September at 4:30PM
Where: Winston Vernaton’s House (154 rue de la Courge, 01390 Civrieux en Dombes)
What to bring: meat to cook for your family, drinks to share, and one of the following: salad, side dish or dessert to share (+ serving utensils)
ICCL will provide: plates, cups, napkins, cutlery, BBQ utensils and bottled water and sangria.

Please RSVP for the BBQ here!

Please email me at icclpastor@gmail.com if you are interested in baptism or if you need a ride to the event.

Also, we will begin our weekly services on 13 September at 4:30pm.  However, we will no longer meeting at our facility in Caluire.  We will now be meeting in the Temple du Change in Vieux Lyon.  Please plan on being there as we celebrate and start this new chapter in the life of the ICCL.

See you on Sunday!

Greg

ICCL Friends and Family!

I hope that each of you have had a great summer and a relaxing time during August. We have had a busy time in the USA and are eagerly awaiting our return to Lyon on September 2.

As we near ‘La Rentrée’ we are gearing up for another wonderful new year with the ICCL. The start up of our activities and regular services is just days away with our annual kick-off pot-luck/BBQ and Baptism set for Sunday, 6 September. You bring the meat and we’ll see that it’s grilled! We’ll also provide the drinks. Please bring a salad or dessert to share. Tableware will be provided.

We will be meeting on 6 September at 4:30 pm at Winston Vernaton’s house (154 rue de la Courge, 01390 Civrieux en Dombes). We’ll need to know how many will be available to join us so we can plan accordingly. Please do confirm your presence by clicking here. Please email me at icclpastor@gmail.com if you are interested in being baptized during our time together.

Instead of a regular church service, this will be a time for fun, food, fellowship and celebration as we baptize those who have put their faith in Jesus Christ! Be sure to email me if you need a ride to the BBQ.

Lastly, I want to mention that our regular services will resume on 13 September. However, we will be meeting in a new location. We will be meeting on Sundays at 16h30 in the Temple du Change! Do join us on 13 of September as we begin the new school year in a spirit of praise and expectation.

We look forward to seeing you as we begin another exciting year of worship!

God Bless!

Hello from hot and humid Houston, Texas!

I wanted to send out a quick email reminding you about the ICCL Concert this Sunday at 16h30 at our facility in Caluire.

Here’s a note from Anastasia about the event:

Hi everyone! I’m looking forward to this Sunday’s concert so much – we will get to hear both newer and older artists, and music ranging from very traditional to a bit unusual and dare I say even funny.  Feel free to bring a snack or two with you to share so we can all hang out afterwards and catch up on life! Can’t wait to see you all!

Blessings to you all!

Greg
